Abbie’s passion for Functional Medicine stems from a long-held interest in nutrition and its intersections with all aspects of health, and enjoys exploring the nature of the human experience, and how we all fit together in harmony with our natural surroundings.
Abbie Jo Madson is our Digital Marketing Specialist and a part of our wonderful support staff. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Luther College with a B.A. in Exercise Physiology with Minors in Psychology and Biology, and was on the Dean’s List all four years. Her liberal arts educational background includes cross discipline classes in Human Anatomy & Dissection, Applied Kinesiology, Alternative Medicine, Developmental Psychology, and Interpersonal Communications.
Her marketing experience includes being a design intern for the Luther Publications Office, Marketing and Communications Educator, and Project Manager at the Center for Sustainable Communities at Luther, Vice President of the Psychology Club, Luther TEDx Committee Communication and Marketing manager, and Press Release Writer for the Minnesota Red Cross. Abbie’s health related background includes interning at Accelerated Sports Therapy & Fitness, and working in the Exercise Science Department at Ridgeview Medical Center leading fitness and wellness youth summer camps.
Her extensive experience with communications, website and graphic design, and outreach help her to lead our digital marketing team. Abbie’s work is focused on creating, designing, and delivering resources that make functional medicine accessible to all, and she looks to help further Newbridge’s message through various social media, website platforms, and facilitating educational classes. She looks to expand Newbridge’s reach and truly uplift patients to their best health through connecting them with the Integrative Medicine community.

She believes that food can be the medicine that empowers each individual towards optimal health. Abbie also places a special emphasis on relationships, and believes that they are at the core of how we exist together. She loves exploring the nature of the human experience, and understanding how we all fit together in harmony with our natural surroundings. Healthy communication and the exploration of her curiosity for other’s stories drives her to develop meaningful relationships.
In her free time, Abbie loves to keep active with yoga, running, playing soccer, and biking. She also loves the outdoors, and grounds herself through watching sunsets and sunrises, and cloud gazing. Abbie also loves learning more about zero waste living and trying to incorporate different lifestyle shifts to tread lightly. Cooking and sharing meals is another of her passions, and she loves baking with her sourdough starter. She enjoys writing, keeps an extensive journal, enjoys photography, and is committed to lifelong learning.
